Facts about Ol' Mutton Whiskers

My full name is Ambrose Everett Burnside. I have had many jobs in the past I was an  American soldier, railroad executive, .inventor, industrialist, and politician. I was born in Liberty, Indiana.  I served as a governor in Rhode Island I was also a  U.S. Senator.  As a Union Army general in the American Civil War I conducted successful campaigns in North Carolina and East Tennessee but I  was defeated in the disastrous Battle of Fredericksburg and Battle of the Crater.

I was known for my distinctive style of facial hair is now known as sideburns, derived from my last name.

My nickname is  Burn but just recently I now call my self Ol' Mutton Whiskers. I served many years being in the army from  1847 to 1865. Although I find it ironic how I made it so far in the army. As a child I was in a army based school where I was no good at being an actual soldier. Instead I was in control of fire arms. Later on in my life I invented the Burnside Carbine Rifle which was the third most used gun in the Civil war.  Lastly, for a little spice, I met with Abraham Lincoln. He made me successor after McClellan was let go in November. I soon quit because I found it most difficult to have the favor of the people who worked for me. I also consider myself a veteran I have fought just about 19 battles in my lifetime.

Well that is it for now if you have any questions just shoot me a message and i'll be sure to answer them as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,
Ambrose E. Burnside
